Jane's Stories Press Foundation has extended the deadline for the
2010 Poetry Contest,"Beyond Borders"
Results of the 2010 Jane's Stories Poetry Awards for previously unpublished
poems written in English by women will be announced in June,
2010.
GUIDELINES
The Jane's
Stories Poetry Award from Jane's Stories Press Foundation will be awarded to the best poem submitted and received by April
2nd, 2010 (deadline has been extended). Previously unpublished poems of any length or
style written in English by women are eligible. Entries should speak to the contest theme, "Beyond Borders." The
Foundation has a special interest in work by and about women, and is seeking writing which addresses resolving conflicts and
boundary issues.
A First Prize of $250 will be
awarded. A Second Prize of $50 and aThird Prize of $25 will also be awarded. All winning poems and authors
will be featured on our we site, wwwjanesstories.org. Authors also grant JSPF reprint rights to publish winning entries
in its next anthology due out in 2011.
An entry fee of $10 for 3 poems
must accompany each submission. Include $3 for each additional poem submitted beyond the first 3, up to a limit of 5
poems. Enclose an SASE for notification and a list of the winners or request email notification to a valid email address.
All entries will be recycled rather than returned. Submissions accepted October 1, 2009 through March 1, 2010.
IMPORTANT: Enclose a separate
sheet including your name, address, email address, and phone number and a list of the poems submitted. Do not put your name on the poem itself. The title of each poem should appear at the top
of the page. Entries without SASEs or valid email addresses will not be considered. Entries that arrive after
April 2nd, 2010, will be discarded.
