Please contribute to Jane!

We appreciate all donations of any size to support our work with girls and women. You may designate your donation for our Not Your Average Jane Program for young people, our upcoming Bridges and Borders Programs, contest prizes, scholarships to conferences, or for general purposes. Thank you for supporting women writers!

There are many things you can do that don't cost a penny. We always need volunteers. Here's a list of our current needs, but please feel free to suggest another way to contribute.

1. Write a short customer review of our books on Amazon.com. It's easy! Just go to that site, type Jane's Stories in the search field, and follow the instructions to recommend our books.

2. Purchase a book for yourself. Get one for a friend while you're at it--inspiration makes a great gift! See our publications page.

3. Are you a member of any writers' blogs or forums? Please tell others about us! Word of mouth buzz is priceless!

4. Share our email news with your friends! If you don't receive our newsletter, join our mailing list for a free copy on the "Welcome to Jane's Stories" page. See the "join our list" button below. Each newsletter includes a "forward this email" button so you can pass it on to our friends.

5. Become a member of Friends of Jane. See the "Join Jane" page for details.

6. Buy a gift membership for a friend. You'll save $5 and be the darling of your circle--and ours!

7. Consider volunteering for our next retreat. You'll receive free admission and hours of great writing tips and advice. Email glenda@janesstories.org for more details.

8. Write an article about Jane for your local paper or a favorite publication. Need an idea about what we're up to? Just email us at janesstories@mac.com and we'll be glad to pitch an idea to you.

9. Have a great grant idea to support women writers? Or want to help with one we're working on? Volunteer to help write a grant. Email Linda Mitchell at asheville@janesstories.org.

10. Volunteer to help set up readings. Email greenlinda@janesstories.org.

11. Volunteer to help with our upcoming Immigrant Women project. Email shobha@janesstories.org to find out how.

12. Organize a reading at your local book store and invite other Jane members to participate. Email greenlinda@janesstories.org for tips and book orders.

13. Teach or arrange a workshop with one of our Board members and donate part of the proceeds to Jane's Stories. Email glenda@janesstories.org for help in setting up a workshop.

14. Start a local Jane's Circle. We'll offer advice and support in person, and you'll have a ready-made group of editors and supporters. Email glenda@janesstories.org for assistance.

15. Become a Bite-Size Contest judge or a first reader for our larger contests. Email glenda@janesstories.org if you are interested.

16. Represent Jane at the AWP conference or another conference you plan on attending. Ask us how by emailing janesstories@mac.com.

17. Conduct an interview with a favorite writer and submit it as an article for our web page. (Please clear your idea first with us by emailing glenda@janesstories.org.)

18. Write a brief how-to article for our email newsletter. Email glenda@janesstories.org before you start.

19. Write a blurb for our next publication. Email glenda@janesstories.org if you can help in this way.
