Our 2009 Fall Retreat held in conjunction with the Other Words Conference at Flagler College, on November 5-8, 2009,
was a smashing success. Thanks to Jim Wilson, Liz Robbins, and Kim Bradley at Flagler College, Rick Campbell and Richard Matthews
at The Florida Literary Arts Coalition (FLAC) and all our Florida Janes and members who attended and helped us at our table
and workshops. And special thanks to the fabulous Diana Abu Jaber, who regaled us with an excerpt from her novel, Origin,
and shared her success stories with us. Also thanks to our wonderful Shobha Sharma, who fulfilled our mission of serving
younger writers by spending an afternoon writing haiku with some very cool fourth through-sixth graders. Very special thanks
to the St. Johns Cultural Council, which made it possible for us to bring both Shobha and Diana to St. Augustine.
